As a customer of Starbucks, you may be familiar with the user forum My Starbucks Idea. This forum provides an opportunity for Starbucks customers to voice their brilliant ideas, which – get this – the company actually listens to and puts into action!

This user reveals that they have always enjoyed reading the quotes on the Starbucks cups when they get bored in class and appreciated the quotes as a unique part of Starbucks. The customer feels that taking away the quotes took away a part of the Starbucks personality that they so loved.

Here is an example of one such inspirational quote that has been used on a Starbucks cup in the past:

Failure’s hard, but success is far more dangerous. If you’re successful at the wrong thing, the mix of praise and money and opportunity can lock you in forever. ~ Po Bronson

Starbucks has implemented these quotes since 2005 in “The Way I See It” campaign. Over the years, some quotes have caused controversy, especially those related to abortion, racism, and eugenics.

So what do you say? Should the quotes be brought back to liven up your regular Starbucks cup of Joe?
